Yike Wang

Hiii, welcome to my homepage 👋🏻

I am a fifth-year MS student at UC Berkeley, working with Professor Dan Klein.

I received my B.A. in computer science and B.A. in applied mathematics from UC Berkeley, where I conducted research on Twitter's ranking algorithm with Professor Anca Dragan. I also interned at ByteDance.

Currently, I am also fortunate to work with Professor Yulia Tsvetkov at Tsvetshop at UW, focusing on knowledge conflicts.

👀 I'm actively seeking a Ph.D. opportunity starting from Fall 2024!

Knight Institute Symposium: Optimizing for What?, 2023

We found that compared to a reverse-chronological baseline, Twitter's engagement-based ranking algorithm may amplify emotionally charged, out-group hostile content and contribute to affective polarization.
